Redmond police seek witnesses to hit-and-run

KTVZ

Redmond police said they are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run incident Saturday in the parking lot of Redmond’s Goodwill store that sent the 18-year-old victim to the hospital with head and other injuries.

Police responded at 11:36 a.m. to the reported collision at 2067 North Business 97, said Lt. Keith Knight.

The victim, identified by family members as Danielle Nelson, 18, of Prineville was struck by a vehicle as she walked through the parking lot in front of the store, Knight said. The woman received head and other injuries.

The woman’s older brother posted on Facebook that she was knocked down, lost consciousness and was held at the hospital overnight due to bleeding on her brain. Her mother said Monday she suffered a concussion but is home resting.

The only lead so far is that it was a newer, shiny four-door vehicle that the victim said was gray, black or silver. Knight said Goodwill has no security camera video of the area.

Anyone who possibly witnessed the hit-and-run or has information regarding the vehicle involved is asked to contact Redmond police on their Facebook page or call 541-693-6911, reference case 15-286418. All contacts can remain anonymous.
