Lower Deschutes River meeting scheduled

The Bureau of Land Management Prineville District Office has scheduled a meeting on Friday, Nov. 6 of the Lower Deschutes River Interagency Implementation Team.

This group is comprised of members from the Prineville BLM, the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, and other state agencies. Members of this team evaluate use data and river information and provide recommendations to the river Managers for management decisions about the Lower Deschutes.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. and is open to the public. The meeting will be held at Warm Springs Power and Water Enterprises, located at 5180 Jackson Trail Road, Warm Springs, Oregon. Agenda items include reviewing the 2015 boating season on the Lower Deschutes and discussing projections for the 2016 season.

The BLM will provide an update on the new boater pass system, facilities, and environmental assessments for Segments 3 and 4. The Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs will report on the Tribal Fee Program. Other contributors may include Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Oregon Parks and Recreation, Oregon State Police and Wasco County Sheriffs’ Dept.
