Monday deadline for Bend Veterans Day Parade entries

The Bend Chamber is seeking entries for the 16 th annual Veterans Day Parade — and Monday is the deadline

Participants must register with the Bend Chamber by Monday and attend the final planning meeting. The meeting is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1643, located at 1503 NE Fourth St. in Bend. Registration is free.

“The parade shows respect for those here and those not here,” said Parade Grand Marshal Col. John Turner, U.S. Air Force, WWII.

Bend’s annual Veterans Day Parade is the second largest Veteran’s Day parade in Oregon with more than 120 organizations participating and thousands of spectators lining the streets of downtown Bend. This year’s theme, “Living Legacies,” commemorates the 70th anniversary of the end of WWII and the 40th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War.
