State Parks waiving $5 day-use parking fee on Black Friday
Chiming in on one nationwide outdoor retailer’s announcement it will encourage people to get outdoors the day after Thanksgiving, the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will suspend day parking fees on Friday, Nov. 27 at all 26 state parks that charge one.
“Rain or shine, windy or not, we’re thankful Oregon’s outdoors are a constant source of joy,” says Oregon Parks and Recreation Department director Lisa Sumption. “Take a break, get out, and enjoy some fresh air.”
Most state parks are free year-round, but the 26 that charge for parking include places like Fort Stevens near Astoria, Silver Falls near Salem, and The Cove Palisades near Madras. Daily parking is $5 per vehicle, but 1- and 2-year passes are also available online at https://store.oregonstateparks.org/
