Vandals target Crook County commissioner’s campaign signs
Crook County Commissioner Ken Fahlgren, who is running for the county judge position, reacted Thursday to news that five of his signs in Powell Butte have been vandalized.
“It hurts, but it’s just one of those things but people lash out. Sometimes they’re kids, sometimes there are reasons that …, people have issues with things I am saying,” Fahlgren said.
Crook County Undersheriff James Savage also responded to NewsChannel 21 about the desecration of property.
“As the campaigns get ramped up, there are folks who are not happy about some people’s politics,” Savage said.
This kind of vandalism doesn’t go without serious costs.
“I think in this case it will be $300 to $800. It’s not free,” Fahlgren said. “Good people gave me this money to run, and it really hurts. But sometimes that’s what happens.”
While Fahlgren’s reaction to the crime was fairly mild, in the future, however, if people have issues with his politics, he said he’d prefer they just tell him.
