Bend U.S. Senate candidate Carpenter endorses Trump
Republican U.S. Senate candidate Sam Carpenter, a Bend businessman announced Wednesday his endorsement of Donald J. Trump for the Republican nomination for president.
“After 35 years of Ron Wyden and eight years of Obama, Oregon is ready to turn over the apple cart, and Donald Trump is clearly the man America needs to turn things around,” Carpenter said.
“Whether it’s immigration and the refusal to close the border or the bad trade deals rubber stamped and fast-tracked through Congress, Wyden and Obama have been working against Oregon’s workers, and it’s high time we had a president and a senator who will fight for jobs for Oregonians rather than for jobs for China or for illegal immigrants,” Carpenter said.
“Americans are tired of career politicians – they’re ready for an outsider to come in with a fresh set of eyes to fix the problems that D.C. politicians have been unwilling to solve for decades. Donald Trump cuts through the political correctness that has caused gridlock in D.C. and slices straight to the bone, and he doesn’t apologize for his opinions,” Carpenter said.
“Talking about these many issues is the first step to fixing them, and I’m proud to endorse a candidate for President who is brave enough to stand up to the status quo,” he concluded.
