Volunteers sought for Bend Pet Parade, Fourth of July Festival

KTVZ

Celebrate the 4th of July by volunteering with Bend Park & Recreation District. Volunteers are needed to assist with our community’s biggest parade and holiday event – the July 4th Pet Parade and Old Fashioned Festival held in downtown Bend and Drake Park.

Adult and teen volunteers are invited to join in to help with two of Bend’s longest running, free community events.

In the morning, volunteers are needed at the Pet Parade in downtown. Adult volunteers will monitor road closure barricade locations along the parade route from 8:30 to 11:30 am. Training is provided and most volunteers will be able to watch the parade.

At the July 4th Old Fashioned Festival in Drake Park, adult and teen volunteers are needed to assist with various games and activities including the photo booth, pie eating contest, “Flush a Duck” game and many more. Adult volunteers with kayaks are needed to be in the river to support the popular “Fish Fling” activity. Two-hour volunteer shifts are available from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

For more information or to volunteer, contact Kim Johnson, BPRD Volunteer Coordinator, at p. (541) 706-6127 or kim@bendparksandrec.org.
