Update: Missing Madras man found safe in LA area

A Madras man reported missing after walking away from his home and failing to return Tuesday has been found safe with relatives in the Los Angeles area, police confirmed Thursday.

Police had asked the public for help Wednesday in finding Tomas Torres, 66, who left his home in the 1500 block of Southwest Olive Street. Detective Dan Farrester said he was “dealing with several medical issues and does not have his medication.”

Thursday morning, Farrester said that Torres :is safe with relatives in the LA area and cleared as a missing person.” He said it was not yet known how he got there.

Farrester had said Wednesday that the Torres family was concerned for his safety, and that he was not associated with a vehicle.
