Bend Police.to hold self-defense class for women

The Bend Police Department is excited to offer a free class for women on safety awareness and education. The class will focus on personal safety options and self defense techniques. It will include a classroom presentation and demonstrations.

Sergeant Elizabeth Lawrence will be instructing this class on November 13 th, 2016. Sergeant Lawrence has over 25 years of law enforcement experience, specializing in defensive tactics and self-defense awareness. Sergeant Lawrence will be joined by Deschutes County Parole and Probation Officer Angel Lotito in presenting this class. Officer Angel Lotito has been in law enforcement for 25 years and a trainer for 16 years.

WHEN: Saturday, November 13 th, 2016 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm

The class will be limited to the 40 participants over the age of 14. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Applications can be found at the front desk of the Bend Police Department. Applications need to be turned in at front desk of the police department no later than November 7, 2016 at 5:00 pm. The first 40 qualified applicants will be admitted into the class.
