Man pleads not guilty in CRR double-murder

BEND, Ore. (AP) — A 20-year-old man accused of killing his two housemates in Jefferson County has pleaded not guilty.

The Bulletin of Bend reports (https://is.gd/QXXW7D ) that Mitchell Morris on Thursday pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder in connection to the deaths of 18-year-old Bailee Ray Southwick 21-year-old Mackenzie Lyman.

Morris is accused of shooting Southwick and Lyman in their Crooked River Ranch home on Feb. 26. According to a statement Morris made to police, he had not been fighting with his roommates before the killings.

Jefferson County District Attorney Steven Leriche says he has been in touch with Morris’s attorneys regarding a possible plea agreement.
