McLane re-elected Oregon House GOP leader


The Oregon House Republican caucus on Monday re-elected Rep. Mike McLane (R-Powell Butte) as House Republican leader.

McLane has served as the Republican leader since 2012, and has led the Republican caucus through the last several legislative sessions.

McLane also announced the additional members of the 2017 House Republican leadership team:

Deputy Republican Leader: Representative Greg Barreto (R-Cove) House Republican Whip: Representative Jodi Hack (R-Salem) Assistant Leaders to be appointed at a later date.

“We have a great team in place headed into 2017,” McLane said in a news release Tuesday. “Both Representative Barreto and Representative Hack have proven themselves to be effective lawmakers and will be invaluable members of the House Republican Leadership team. I am very grateful to my colleagues for their continued support and look forward to serving alongside them as Leader for an additional term.

“There is plenty of work to be done in the weeks and months ahead, and I am excited to get to work,” he added.

The 2017 legislative session will begin on February 1 . Among a host of other issues, lawmakers are expected to tackle revenue and spending reform, as well as a transportation and infrastructure improvement package.
