Bend Senior HS placed on brief precautionary lockout
Bend Senior High School underwent a brief precautionary lockout Wednesday morning due to nearby police activity over a “trespass issue,” police reported.
Police Lt. Clint Burleigh said offices near the school, located at 230 Northeast Sixth Street, “had a situation where they dealt with a citizen on the street near the campus. The lockout was precautionary.”
In a lockout, exterior doors are locked but students and staff can move freely through the building and classrooms. A more stringent lockdown means all occupants of the school stay in place until it is lifted.
Staff were continuing to keep an eye on the campus perimeter, also as a precautionary measure, Burleigh said.
We’ll share more details as we get them.
