Lower Deschutes boater passes move to


Beginning no earlier than January 4, the Prineville District BLM will start using to issue boater passes for the Lower Deschutes River in Central Oregon.

The fee to float the river remains the same: $2/person/day, with an additional $6/person/day on peak weekend days during the summer.

With, a new $6 per entire transaction (regardless of the number of people or number of days) will be charged. This $6 per transaction fee allows to recoup the cost of building the boater pass program from the actual users of the river, not the general public.
