Deschutes County issues alert for missing sex offender
(Update: Adding his previous violation, arrest; also newer photos)
Deschutes County authorities issued a community alert late Wednesday, asking the public to help the look for a convicted sex offender on lifetime post-prison supervision who failed to return home Tuesday night.
Justin Lampke, 43, is on supervision after convictions of sexual abuse and attempted sodomy, officials said.
Lampke’s current whereabouts are unknown, and law enforcement throughout the county have been alerted to be on the lookout for him, officials said.
Lampke is 5-foot-7 and 160 pounds, with “longish” brown hair, and last was seen wearing dark sweat pants, a blue polo-type shirt and jacket, officials said.
Anyone who sees Lampke or has any information about his whereabouts is urge to call 911 immediately.
Tanner Wark, deputy director of Deschutes County Parole and Probation, said Lampke was not on a GPS tracking ankle bracelet at the time he apparently fled. It was not his first time he absconded and violated terms of his supervision. In April of last year, he cut off his GPS ankle monitor and was arrested a few days later in Seattle, Wark said.
Wark explained that a state law passed in2 015 restructured the classification system for sex offenders. Lampke is a “Level 3,” the same as a predatory sex offender, which was his designation at the time of last year’s flight and recapture.
