Update: DCSO locates owners of two horses found east of Bend

The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office turned to the public for assistance Saturday in finding the owners of two horses found running together east of Bend on Friday afternoon — and within a few hours, the owner had been found, deputies said

The horses,a chestnut female with black mane and tail and a male gelding with a gray mane and tai, were found around 2:30 p.m. Friday, running together on Gosney Road near Crestview Lane, said Sgt. William Bailey.

Anyone with information to reunite the horses with their owner had been asked to contact dispatchers.

Around 6:30 p.m., Bailey said in an update, “Both horses have been reunited with their owner.” “We thank the public for their help in this matter, he added.
