Two Prineville residents arrested in butane honey oil production

Two Prineville residents, ages 21 and 17, were arrested Wednesday in a raid on a northeast Prineville home where police said the potentially volatile marijuana extract “butane honey oil” was being illegally produced, officers said Thursday.

Prineville police received information Wednesday that the marijuana extract was being illegally produced by the two residents of a home in the 1500 block of Northeast Larry Court, said Sgt. James Peterson.

Police obtained a search warrant and served it later Wednesday, with the assistance of Crook County Fire and Rescue.

Peterson said several items used to produce and sell marijuana extracts were found at the home.

“This investigation is highly concerning, as the process involves highly combustible materials and can lead to large explosions, fire and injuries,” Peterson said in a news release.

William Ray Lockman Jr., 21, was taken to the county jail, where he was booked on charges of manufacture of cannabinoid extract (a Class B felony), delivery of marijuana extract (a Class C felony) and possession of cannabinoid extract (a Class A misdemeanor).

The teen was taken to the Crook County Juvenile Department and turned over to their custody, the sergeant said.
