4 Peaks Music Festival underway at new site

The 4 Peaks Music Festival moved this year from Tumalo to Stevenson Ranch in southeast Bend. The reason — noise complaints from Tumalo residents.

Despite that, this year’s festival, the 10th annual, was designed to hold more people. Even though Stevenson Ranch is fairly secluded, people do live nearby.

Are the neighbors concerned with the noise?

“We can just barely hear it now,” across-the-street neighbor Curtis Holbert said Thursday evening. “Even if it gets a little louder when they move outside of a tent and the weather’s nice, I don’t feel like it’s going to interrupt our lives at all.”

But will Holbert be singing the same tune at night, when he’s trying to sleep and the party’s still going strong?

“We’re much more likely to notice the semi going by than the fourth set at 10 o’clock,” he said.

Knott Road is already busy — and neighbors say the festival should not make it much worse.

“We’re not worried about the extra people coming along,” Holbert said. “Again, there’s a lot of traffic along here, so you have people anyway.”
