Destination Rehab receives $4,800 grant from nonprofit
Destination Rehab provides adventure-based rehabilitation for individuals with neurologic conditions. Their mission is to provide skills training to promote improved community participation, independence and quality of life.
Bringing physical therapy principles into the community and onto the trail gives their participants the confidence and training needed to engage in a full life.
Carol-Ann Nelson, founder and executive director, received her BLA from Willamette University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University. She relocated to Bend in 2015 with a passion for seeing people engage with the incredible culture and outdoor opportunities that Central Oregon offers.
Destination Rehab has been awarded a $4,800 grant from the nonprofit Move Together. As a newly established organization, they are looking to engage their population in the early-stage development of program offerings. They want to create opportunities for participants to lead, allowing them to shape the development and direction of programming.
This grant advances those goals by supporting a 10-person cohort of individuals who will meet monthly for 6 months in 2018. The program includes education, outings, and group discussion to promote community engagement and quality of life.
Applications will be posted soon, contact Destination Rehab’s team with questions: connect@destinationrehab.org. This is an exciting opportunity to promote independence and quality of life while enjoying the amazing outdoor and community opportunities here in Central Oregon!
