Brushfire doused near homeless camp east of Redmond
Redmond firefighters quickly doused a small brushfire that broke out early Thursday afternoon near a homeless camp on BLM land just east of the city, officials said.
The cause of the fire, which burned about a quarter-acre north of Highway 126, was under investigation.
A driver on the highway, across from the Redmond Airport and Redmond Air Center, called in the reported fire shortly before 12:30 p.m.
Officials said fire crews had the blaze out within five minutes of arriving on scene.
