One dead in Portland apartment fire
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An early morning fire swept through an apartment building in northeast Portland Sunday, killing one person and displacing more than two dozen people.
Portland Fire and Rescue says firefighters found heavy fire coming from the first floor of the apartment building on Glisan Street when they responded early Sunday morning.
Crews pulled one person out of the building but that person died at the scene.
One firefighter suffered minor burns. No other injuries were reported.
Investigators were working to determine what caused the fire.
