Downed power line sparks Oakridge brushfire

OAKRIDGE, Ore. (AP) – A downed power line sparked a brushfire in Oakridge that destroyed a trailer and shut down Highway 58 for about two hours and limited travel until it was contained.
 
The Register Guard reports Tuesday (http://bit.ly/2uvfqCR) that no one was injured in the blaze that began shortly after 2 p.m.

KMTR reported a dead tree fell on and brought down a power line, sparking a grass fire that threatened homes and businesses.
 
Highway 58 was shut down for about two hours, from 2 to 4 p.m., until eastbound lanes reopened to carry traffic in both directions, the paper said. The road fully reopened by about 6:15 p.m.
 
The newspaper reports that the fire destroyed a single-wide mobile home as strong winds fanned the flames.
 
An elderly woman was rescued by firefighters and was not hurt.
