Klamath Falls woman gets life for killing boyfriend
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – A Klamath Falls woman who pleaded guilty to killing and cutting up her boyfriend has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 25 years.
Sheyanna Ray was arrested last year after the remains of David White were found dismembered and burned. White’s parents told the Herald and News (https://is.gd/EF5D1w ) that Ray and their son had been dating and living in the same home.
Ray declined to make a statement at Monday’s sentencing. White’s family also remained quiet.
Ray pleaded guilty last month to murder and abuse of a corpse.
She said at the plea hearing that she strangled White with a cord after he tried to do the same to her.
Police said she did not initially claim self-defense and likely dismembered the body to avoid prosecution.
