Local Alert Weather, Friday AM, 12.29.17

KTVZ

Good Friday Morning, Everyone…

After a balmy, but blustery start to our Friday we can expect a pretty fair day with some changes later this afternoon. A storm system pushing through the NW has brought a lot of storm activity to the state of Washington and will bring it to Oregon through the day. Flash flood watches are in place for the northwestern corner of the state and that same system will increase Central Oregon’s clouds this afternoon. Highs will be around 50 degrees and southerly winds at 5-15 mph will gust to 20-25 mph. Late afternoon and early evening showers will move through quickly and we will see some partial clearing overnight. Lows will get down to freezing and a little below. Westerly winds will stay breezy at 10-15 mph.

The passage of the front will allow our skies to stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy through the weekend. It will also leave behind cooling temperatures. By New Year’s Day our highs will be topping out in the mid 30’s and overnight lows will dip into the teens. The next system of showers are not expected to reach Central Oregon until the middle of next week.

HAVE A SPARKLING DAY IN CENTRAL OREGON!
