Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
High clouds today didn’t have a big effect on our temperatures. Daytime highs today climbed back into the mid to upper 60s, which is more than 20 degrees above normal for this time of year. Winds picked up today and will stay fairly breezy overnight tonight.
This evening expect partly cloudy skies with winds gusting 30 miles per hour at times out of the northwest. Overnight lows will remain above average in the upper 20s and low to mid 30s. Our average overnight low is 24 degrees at the airport in Redmond. There’s a chance for a few light rain showers across the Cascades overnight.
Tomorrow cooler air will move down from the north and bring us closer to seasonal averages. Some clouds in the morning will give way to some sunshine for the afternoon with clouds increasing in the evening. Highs will reach the upper 40s and lower 50s. Our average daytime high is 45 degrees.
Saturday will be cooler, but average in the low to mid 40s. Partly cloudy skies are on tap to begin the weekend. We could wake up to a few snow flurries, but the showers will likely not reach the earth’s surface. Sunshine is expected for the day.
Sunday will see partly sunny skies to mostly cloudy. Highs will be in the mid 40s again and winds will pick up. The next system arriving overnight into Monday could bring us a few snow showers, but again it’s a slight chance at this point.
