Local Alert Weather – Tues. PM

KTVZ

Happy Tuesday evening, everyone!

We’ve had a warm, sunny day across the High Desert. Daytime highs reached the upper 40s and low to mid 50s for the region. Our average daytime high is 46 degrees. High pressure extends into the Pacific Northwest for the time being, but changes are on the way overnight.

Overnight we can expect some breezy winds at times with increasing clouds. We’ll see mostly cloudy skies after midnight. Snow showers will fall across the Cascades tonight. Central Oregon has a change for snow showers overnight, and the chance extends through tomorrow. Overnight lows will dip into the mid to upper 20s, which is around average and much warmer than we were last night.

The mountains will receive anywhere from 2-4″ of snow by tomorrow morning with another 2-3″ throughout the day. The passes will have either packed snow or spots of ice, so know if you are traveling roads could be slick.

Tomorrow will see a chance for scattered, unorganized snow showers. The chance is around 30 percent. Daytime highs will be much cooler behind the front with temperatures climbing into the upper 30s and low to mid 40s. Apart from the chance for snow showers we will see partly cloudy skies overhead. We will see winds picking up out of the northwest tomorrow around 25 miles per hour.

Heading into the end of the week Central Oregon can expect partly cloudy to partly sunny skies with daytime highs right around average in the 40s.
