Credit union, members raise $15,000 for Oregon charities

KTVZ

SELCO Community Credit Union and its members raised $15,000 for worthy charities across Oregon during its month-long SELCO Cheer member appreciation event, which ended on Jan. 31.

Throughout the month, SELCO members were randomly selected to receive $100, and then pick a local charity from a predetermined list to receive a matching $100.

The list included 15 charities, each representing the communities SELCO serves. In Central Oregon, KIDS Center and NeighborImpact received a combined $3,200.

“The SELCO Cheer member appreciation event gives us an opportunity to not only thank our members, but get their help in directing SELCO donations to charities that make a difference in our communities,” said Laura Illig, vice president of marketing.
