The Sisters City Council has chosen a Tumalo artist’s proposal for a new artwork to be installed in the center of the new roundabout at U.S. Highway 20 and Barclay Drive.

The Sisters Art Selection Committee, with input from the public, had recommended Danae Bennett Miller’s “A Land of Contrasts” to councilors, and they accepted that recommendation at Wednesday night’s meeting, Models of the three finalists’ proposals had been on display at City Hall for the community to weigh in on.

The art installation, fully funded by a Federal Lands Access Program grant, is expected to be completed by fall, officials said. The grant provided up to $200,000 for the artwork and another $300,000 for landscaping the roundabout. I
