Portland shelter to put La Pine dogs up for adoption
The Oregon Humane Society recently assisted the Humane Society of Central Oregon following the intake of 53 dogs from a property in La Pine. A team from OHS, including Sharon Harmon, president and CEO, traveled to Bend on Saturday to meet with a representative from HSCO, offer help and transport 22 dogs back to OHS.
“This was a very large intake of dogs for our partners at HSCO and we are glad to assist,” Harmon said in a news release Wednesday. We have the resources and expertise to care for these pets and find them loving homes.”
Approximately 19 of the 22 dogs, including German shorthaired pointers, Labrador retrievers, dachshunds and chihuahuas, will be available for adoption beginning Friday. The dogs’ photos and profiles will be posted on the OHS website Thursday evening and adoptions will begin Friday morning when the shelter opens at 10 a.m.
