Redmond Fire Dept. burning vacant home tonight

Redmond Fire & Rescue will be burning a vacant residence donated for training by the owner Wednesday night.

The building is located at 5325 Southwest Harvest Avenue, just west of Helmholtz Way. Officials said the building would be ignited around 6:30 p.m.

No live fire training will be conducted, just demolition of the residence, which officials said will smolder for several hours to days.

Traffic on Harvest Avenue will not be impacted by fire activity, but the fire will be very visible from the surrounding areas.
