Gas line repaired; NW Bend intersection reopens

A construction crew on Bend’s Northwest 14th Street struck a natural gas line late Thursday afternoon, causing a leak that closed the intersection for nearly two hours, officials said.

Bend Fire Department Battalion Chief Dave Howe said the incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. A Cascade Natural Gas repair crew was called to the scene, and repairs were reported completed and the road reopened shortly before 6 p.m.
