Missing Prineville man found in Millican OHV area
A citizen found a 53-year-old Prineville man reported missing Sunday afternoon in the Millican OHV area, Crook County sheriff’s deputies said.
The sheriff’s office received a report around 2:30 p.m. Sunday that Terry Gore had not been seen since about 7:30 a.m., sheriff’s Sgt. Bill Elliott said Monday.
Gore and his girlfriend had been camping in the area and gone for a walk. His girlfriend went back to their vehicle when she became tired, Elliott said.
After about seven hours, Gore’s girlfriend was still at their campsite, waiting for his return, when she was contacted by two citizens, one of whom called the sheriff’s office to report Gore was missing, Elliott said.
The sheriff’s office deployed the Search and Rescue team in an effort to locate Gore. After about an hour of searching, another citizen located Gore about a mile north of his campsite. He was conscious and alert, only suffering from some dehydration and muscle soreness.
Gore was given a ride back to his campsite and his waiting girlfriend, Elliott said.
The sheriff’s office issued a reminder to all recreating in Crook County to let people know where you are going and to pack appropriate supplies and clothing with you.
