Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM

KTVZ

Happy Thursday evening, everyone!

Some thunderstorms have developed to our south passing over Willamette Pass this afternoon and evening. Areas in La Pine and Sunriver have a slight chance for a few thunderstorms tonight, but we’re expected to be dry. Winds will be breezy through sunset gusting around 25 miles per hour out of the north.

Overnight expect breezy conditions at times still out of the north. Northerly breezes should help push most of the smoke from prescribed burns to the south; however, we’ll likely wake up to some hazy conditions again tomorrow morning. Lows will be mild in the upper 30s and low to mid 40s. Clouds will trickle in by tomorrow morning.

Friday brings us back to spring and seasonal averages. Many locations will see highs in the low to mid 60s. Mostly cloudy skies are what we’ll be waking up to, and chances for showers develop by lunchtime. We have the slight chance for a few thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon, but a better chance for some rain showers. Winds will be breezy tomorrow as well gusting 15 miles per hour out of the northwest.

Heading into the weekend cooler air moves inland and temperatures will feel chilly. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s. Winds will still be breezy at times making it feel cooler. Saturday could see a few scattered rain showers in the afternoon, but overall we’re looking at partly sunny skies.

Sunday looks to be the drier day of the two for the weekend. We could also get clipped by a few light showers in the afternoon, but overall we’ll see mostly cloudy skies. Highs will be chilly again and below average in the mid to upper 50s.

The beginning of the week will be on a cool note with highs in the low to mid 50s and cloudy skies. As we head through the week we’ll see temperatures bounce back into the upper 60s and lower 70s.
