More than 1,230 graduating from Bend-La Pine Schools

It’s time to celebrate the Class of 2018! This year, more than 1,230 students will graduate from Bend-La Pine Schools.

Graduations take place at the following times and locations:

Bend Senior High School (395 graduates): June 9 at 11 a.m. at Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center La Pine High School (94 graduates): June 8 at 7 p.m. at La Pine High School Marshall High School (37 graduates): June 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Bend Senior High School Mountain View High School (340 graduates): June 7 at 7 p.m. at Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center Summit High School (371 graduates): June 9 at 4 p.m. at Deschutes County Fair & Expo Center

Members of the Class of 2018 earned numerous prestigious accomplishments, from art to athletics. The class includes:

Two National Merit Finalists Two national Silver Medal winners from the National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Numerous athletes who earned individual or team state titles in volleyball, swimming, track and field, cross-country, baseball, wrestling, swimming, golf, tennis and more Numerous members of state and national award-winning activities including: newspaper, band, speech and debate, robotics, DECA, Future Farmers of America, Future Business Leaders of America and more 345 students who are graduating with honors diplomas

Many of this year’s graduating seniors will pursue post-secondary education or training. The Class of 2018 was offered more than $13 million in scholarships.

Graduates have a range of post-secondary plans, including enrolling in branches of the military, pursuing trade schools, attending in-state universities and institutions including Yale University, Boston College, Stanford University, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, California Polytechnic State University, U.S. Naval Academy and Westminster Honors College, to name a few.
