Gov. Brown orders flags lowered to honor Md. shooting victims
Gov. Kate Brown on Tuesday ordered all flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset in honor of the victims of the shooting in Annapolis, Maryland.
“As the nation grieves for the victims and those involved in the horrible shooting in Annapolis, we are also reminded of the important role played by the press and local reporters,” Brown said. “The shooting is a tragic reminder of how common gun violence is in America, and a wake up call that action must be taken by Congress to keep our communities safer.”
The White House also issued a national flag order, and the full presidential proclamation is available here.
