PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A man who fatally stabbed a Portland disc jockey and hair stylist in an apparently random attack has been sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after 30 years.
Michael Lee Williams was sentenced Thursday, three weeks after he pleaded guilty to aggravated murder in the death of 38-year-old Jacob Shroyer.
Shroyer was stabbed multiple times while returning to his apartment building from a grocery store on May 8. 2017. An officer found him in the lobby of the apartment building.
Surveillance footage captured Williams running from the scene with a blade or knife. He was arrested the following day after he assaulted a man on a bus to steal his wallet.
