Local Alert Weather – Fri. PM
Happy Friday evening, everyone!
Hot temperatures are ahead for the last few days of July. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and listening to your body! If you start to feel tired, then take a break in some cool air and shade.
Tonight we’re looking at winds to gust around 20 miles per hour out of the northwest. Some hazy skies are likely towards the south as wildfires burn in southern Oregon. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s around sunset. Clear skies are expected overhead. Lows will be mild in the low to mid 50s.
Saturday begins with sunshine overhead, but has a good chance at seeing some smoke in the region due to the wildfires. Temperatures will be back into the low to mid 90s for daytime highs. Winds will be out of the north in the afternoon gusting 20 miles per hour.
We keep warming through the end of the weekend and beginning of the week. Temperatures will be about 10 degrees above average for this time of year. Highs will top out in the upper 90s and low triple digits for Sunday and Monday.
As a reminder, conditions are VERY DRY across Central Oregon and Fire Danger is at an EXTREME level. Be mindful of your surroundings and know if a fire should start it could spread quickly.
Our hottest day on the extended forecast is Monday with highs in the upper 90s and triple digits. We will begin to cool down as we round out July and begin August. Temperatures will be back to the mid 80s by the end of next week.
Stay cool and have a happy & safe weekend!
