Redmond mayor, 3 council positions on Nov. ballot

The City of Redmond has three open City Council seats and the position of Mayor on the upcoming November general election ballot. Interested in running? Candidate election packets are available from the City Recorder’s office, 411 SW 9th Street, Suite 109 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Deadline for filing required forms and signature sheets is August 28.

All prospective candidates must be 18 years of age, must be registered electors and must be a resident of the City of Redmond at least one year prior to the date of the election. Candidates should deliver their prospective petitions (SEL101) in person to the City Recorder during the business hours stated above before collecting signatures.

The City of Redmond has a Council / Manager form of government. The Council consists of six members serving 4-year terms, and a Mayor serving a 2-year term. The City Manager serves at the pleasure of the Council. The Council members act as the policy makers, as required by council/manager form of government set forth in the Oregon Revised Statutes. The City Manager’s staff turns these objectives into programs actions.
