Salvation Army in Bend in urgent need of school supplies
With two weeks to go until the Back-to-School Distribution at The Salvation Army in Bend, there is an urgency to receive more school supply donations, the organization said Thursday: “At this time, we have no backpacks.”
“We appreciate the past generosity of our community to support children and families in need,” Bend Salvation Army Corps Officer, Captain Rachel Johnson. said. “This year, we’re asking for help with backpacks and school supplies.”
On Saturday, August 25 th The Salvation Army Bend Corps will be hosting a Back-to-School Distribution to provide 150 kids with the supplies they need to succeed this school year.
Without the community’s help this year, The Salvation Army said it “will not have enough resources it needs to distribute backpacks and school supplies.”
“This is why it is important for The Salvation Army and the Bend community to step in to help families this year,” it said.
