Local Alert Weather, Tue. AM, 8.21.18
Good Tuesday Morning, Everyone…
A consistent northerly flow will keep smoke in the air all day today and that will keep the air quality at unhealthy levels. The National Weather Service has put an Air Quality Alert in place for most of the state of Oregon until at least noon Thursday. “People with heart or lung disease, older adults and children should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion. Everyone else should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion.” Apart from all that smoke skies will be clear and sunny. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s and northerly winds will be fairly gentle at 5-15 mph.
Skies will stay clear tonight, but the smoke will hang in the air as winds become light and variable. Overnight lows will range from low 40’s to low 50’s.
Sunny, but smoky conditions will prevail into the end of the week; as will temps in the mid to upper 80’s. A cooling trend will begin Friday that will culminate with temps in the upper 70’s to low 80’s coming out of the weekend and entering into next week.
