Local Alert Weather – Saturday

KTVZ

Happy Saturday, everyone!

September gets started on a perfect note — if I do say so myself! Daytime highs for Labor Day weekend will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Smoke should stay out of the region through Monday. Sunny skies are expected with a few clouds here and there, but overall we’re looking at a lot of blue sky.

We’ll see some smoke closer to the Cascades as the Terwilliger Fire burns near Cougar Reservoir. Areas such as La Pine and Sunriver will likely see some smoke and haze throughout the weekend.

If you are heading to the Cascades overnight know temperatures will be cold up in the mountains, so bring extra layers if you are camping!

By next week we’ll see warmer temperatures and clear skies, so we’re expecting fire activity to pick up and bring Central Oregon some smoke. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s for the first week of school for students on the High Desert.

Make it a happy & safe weekend!
