Local Alert Weather – Thurs. PM
Happy Thursday evening, everyone!
High pressure remains in control through the end of the week giving us the clear skies. We did, however, see smoke this morning move up from the southwest. Wildfires are still burning in southwest Oregon and northern California. Smoke will impact areas such as Sunriver and La Pine more than locations up to the north.
Overnight we’ll see smoke roll back into Central Oregon. Clear skies will be overhead apart from the smoke. Overnight lows will dip into the 30s and 40s. We’ll see above average overnight lows for many locations.
Tomorrow will see smoky skies, but we’ll see sunshine overall. Mostly sunny skies are ahead for the afternoon. Highs will be warm once again in the upper 70s and low to mid 80s. Our average daytime high is 72 degrees at the airport in Redmond.
Changes arrive by Saturday as cooler air moves into the region. Highs will be in the low to mid 70s. Showers are expected by the second half of the day all arriving up from the south. We also have a good chance at some thunderstorms in the late afternoon and early evening.
Overnight into Sunday we’ll still see a few showers remaining. The ground will be wet Sunday morning and a few showers will be with us. During the day we’ll see a gradual clearing and should end the day with mostly sunny skies. Sunday will be the coolest day on the 7-day forecast with highs in the mid to upper 60s.
The week ahead look quite average with temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Mostly sunny skies are expected.
