Fire damages home at Crooked River Ranch
A fire damaged a home at Crooked River Ranch late Sunday afternoon, but the resident got out without injuries, a fire official said.
Firefighters were dispatched around 4 p.m. to a home in the 8100 block of Southwest High Cone Drive, Fire Chief Harry Ward said.
The first crew to arrive on the scene found the fire was burning in two rooms of the home, Ward said, but “got a pretty good knock-down” of the flames within minutes. The resident was out of the home when they arrived.
Fans were used to ventilate the smoke as firefighters began efforts to make sure the fire was fully out. Overhaul work continued past nightfall.
Mutual-aid support came with an engine crew from Redmond Fire & Rescue and a water tender from the Cloverdale Rural Fire District, Ward said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
Ward said the resident declined disaster-response assistance from the American Red Cross.
More details are expected to be released later.
