Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

The snow we saw last night quickly melted with our highs in the mid 40s today and a little sunshine this afternoon. We’ll see some spots of ice overnight with slick spots as temperatures will fall below the freezing mark for overnight lows. Low temperatures will bottom out in the upper 20s and lower 30s. Winds will be out of the south around 10 miles per hour. Overnight we’ll see mostly cloudy skies and will stay dry.

Tomorrow starts with more clouds over Bend and Redmond than we will see in higher elevations like La Pine and Sunriver. We’ll see partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies overall. A warm front will bring temperatures into the upper 40s and lower 50s, which is above average. Winds will pick up at times gusting 20 miles per hour out of the south with the weak front passing through.

We stay dry and mild through Friday. Our chances for showers will pick up by Friday around lunchtime. We could see some rain showers throughout the second half of the day, but most shower activity will fall on the Cascades. Winds will be gusty at times on Friday with winds sustained around 15 miles per hour with gusts around 30. Highs on Friday will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

The next chance for mountain snow will be Friday with a few inches expected. Snow levels will be around pass level, so we will see some snow mixed in with the showers. If you are traveling know you’ll see some winter driving conditions.

For the weekend ahead our dry day will be Saturday. We’ll see mostly cloudy skies and highs in the low to mid 40s. Sunday looks to see some morning rain showers at this point. Highs will be in the mid to upper 40s.
