A pedestrian from Portland was struck and killed late Wednesday night on Highway 97 near Chemult in northern Klamath County, Oregon State Police reported Thursday.

OSP and emergency personnel responded shortly after 11 p.m. to the reported crash near milepost 204, OSP Captain Tim Fox said.

An investigation found that David Ralphs-Thomason, 37, of Portland was in the northbound travel lane when he was struck by a car driven by a 22-year-old Spokane man.

Ralphs-Thomason sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene, Fox said. No charges have been brought against the driver, who is cooperating in the investigation.
