Local Alert Weather, Mon. AM, 1.7.19
Good Monday Morning, Everyone…
The current system will pass out of our region this morning and that will leave us with a fairly mild day. We will stay chilly this morning, but get close to our average of 41 degrees this afternoon. Breezes will be gentle out of the south under mostly cloudy skies. Clouds will increase tonight and deliver a chance of snow showers. Lows will drop to freezing and a little below. Expect gusty easterly breezes at 5-15+ mph.
Those breezy conditions tonight are an indication of the next system to approach the west coast. The main strength of this system will be expended on the coast and the Willamette Valley. A major cold front associated with this system will bring heavy rain through northern California Tuesday and Wednesday. While we are expecting to see mixed showers out of this system and strong southerly flow within the system will keep us warm enough to see mostly rain here. Mt. Bachelor will receive 3-5 inches of fresh snow. Thursday and Friday will bring a break between systems, then we can expect a wet weekend with highs in the mid to upper 40’s.
