Two transients arrested in Crescent home burglary
(Update: Second suspect arrested; property stolen in Crescent-area burglaries recovered)
A wanted La Pine-area transient who fled from an attempted traffic stop and had just burglarized a home in Crescent was arrested Saturday after a manhunt and lengthy pursuit on foot in rough, snow-covered terrain, Oregon State Police reported.
A second suspect was arrested later, and property stolen in that and other area burglaries was recovered, Klamath County Sheriff Chris Kaber said Sunday..
Tylor McMahan, 25, was a passenger in a vehicle that OSP Trooper Darin Bean said he attempted to stop around 11:15 a.m.. on Saturday.
Bean said McMahan, who ran from the vehicle, had an outstanding felony warrant.
Deschutes County sheriff’s deputies, including Deputy Jeremiah Johnson and his K-9 partner Ezel, assisted OSP and Klamath County deputies in the hunt.
McMahan was taken into custody more than five miles away and later admitted to the burglary, the trooper said.

McMahan, who’s been arrested on several felony charges over the past two years, was lodged in the Klamath County Jail on numerous charges, including burglary, theft, unlawful entry into a motor vehicle and criminal driving with a suspended or revoked license, as well as two counts of probation violation. His bail totaled $90,000.
The second suspect, Joshua Douglas Adams, 42, also a transient, was jailed on charges of unlawful entry into and use of a motor vehicle, first-degree burglary, first-degree theft and criminal mischief. His bail totaled $55,000.
Kaber said the U.S. Forest Service also assisted in the pursuit of the two men, who he said “are known to law enforcement as being prolific scofflaws.” He thanked other law enforcement agencies for their assistance and added, “It is hoped a successful prosecution will now put the two ouf of commission for a time.”
