KTVZ

A fire destroyed a cabinet shop west of Redmond late Sunday night, but firefighters said they were able to keep it from reaching nearby vehicles or another structure.

Redmond Fire & Rescue crews were called shortly after 11 p.m. to the structure fire in the 800 block of Southwest Helmholtz Way, Fire Marshal Traci Cooper said.

Crews arrived to find the building heavily involved in fire, Cooper said. Engine crews protected the exposures and contained the fire to the cabinet shop.

No injuries were reported, but the building loss was estimated to be at least $50,000, Cooper said. The contents loss was unknown.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, Cooper said.

Redmond called for mutual-aid assistance from the Cloverdale, Bend and Crooked River Ranch fire departments, to help staff stations. Assistance also was provided by the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and Pacific Power.
