Local Alert Weather – Mon. PM
Happy Monday evening, everyone!
An AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY remains in effect for most of Central Oregon including, Bend, Redmond, Madras, and Prineville. The advisory is set to expire by noon on Wednesday. Air quality levels will suffer during this time, and those with respiratory issues should take caution.
Tonight will be calm for the High Desert. Winds will be light out of the northeast. Increasing clouds will likely turn into areas of low clouds in the morning with some areas of fog. Mainly, low-lying elevations will see the cold, foggy air. A temperature inversion for tomorrow will leave us with cooler air in the canyons with warmer air for higher elevations. Highs will top out int he upper 30s and lower 40s. Winds will be light out of the northeast. We’ll see clearer skies to end the day.
Into Wednesday we can still expect some areas of fog and poor air quality. Highs will be back into the low to mid 50s if you’re above the fog. Thursday will be similar in that we will see mild temperatures, some areas of fog, and calm winds.
By Friday we see a change with cooler temperatures and a good chance for rain showers. Highs will only peak in the mid to upper 40s after being in the mid 50s for Thursday. Friday will see noticeably more clouds overhead as well as a return of the showers. During this time the mountains will look to receive a little snow after a dry weather pattern.
