Local Alert Weather – Wed. PM

KTVZ

Happy Wednesday evening, everyone!

We’ll be mainly dry overnight with the chance for mixed showers picking up by tomorrow morning. Snow levels will be around 4,700′ tonight rising to 5,100′ by the morning. Low temperatures will be in the upper 20s and lower 30s to start the day.

Thursday begins with showers and the morning looks to be fairly wet AND/OR icy. Plan extra time to get out the door as these showers will be mixed with some freezing rain. Temperatures will be around the freezing mark in the morning and the surfaces will be cold, but snow levels will be high so when the precipitation falls it freezes on impact. Morning commutes will likely be affected if you see freezing rain.

Throughout the day we will see mixed showers as snow levels fall to 1,900′ by the evening on Thursday. Daytime highs will be on the cool side in the mid to upper 30s and lower 40s. Winds will be out of the south about 15 miles per hour.

Heading into Friday we’ll see the precipitation over to snow showers. Most of the snow will fall through Jefferson county by Friday morning. Friday’s highs will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Into the weekend cold air will move down from the north and daytime highs will be in the low to mid 30s. Most of the weekend will be dry, but we have the chance for showers on Saturday.
