Local Alert Weather, Thu. AM, 2.14.19
Good Thursday Morning, Everyone…
…and a very Happy Valentine’s Day! We may see a bit of a break in this morning’s mixed showers, but they are likely to return. Snow will turn to rain for many as highs climb into the low to mid 40’s. Most will see gentle SE winds, but it will be very gusty in the mountains. Mixed showers this evening turn to snow overnight with lows in the 20’s and SE breezes at 10-15 mph.
This will be another good event for the ski resorts. Mt. Bachelor is expecting to get 5-10″ of fresh snow over the next 24 hours. While this storm system is expected to slowly weaken the mountain could see another 6-8″ through Saturday.
This will also mean a weakening of activity on the High Desert. Our chance of snow and mixed showers will slowly taper off through Saturday and leave us under partly cloudy skies by Monday. Just plan on staying cold as highs only get into the mid 30’s this weekend and lows dip to the teens and low 20’s. The next system will thicken clouds Tuesday and bring a chance of showers by the end of the day. The next batch of mixed showers will stretch across the region Tuesday night and Wednesday.
